If you are a health care worker and need to practice your clinical  skills, the Simulation Team have a number of different types of equipment that can help.

Equipment available for training are:

  • Lumbar Puncture trainer (for both adults and paediatrics)
  • Airway management head (for both adults and paediatrics)
  • Crico-trainer
  • Male and female catheterisation models
  • Pelvic trainer
  • Episiotomy trainers, including repair of episiotomy trainer
  • Anal examination trainer
  • Breast examination trainer
  • Testicular examination trainer
  • Eyes and Ears trainer
  • Knee aspiration trainer
  • Cannulation/Phlebotomy arms
  • ABG trainer
  • NG tube trainer
  • Laparotomy trainers
  • Chest drain trainer
  • Paracentesis trainer
  • IO trainer
  • Old age suits/bariatric suits

We are able to offer these clinical skills trainers to a variety of healthcare professionals, such as:

Junior doctors (particularly for PACES or IMTs)
Advanced Care Practitioners
Paediatric trainees, including registrars
SAS Doctors
Nurses and Nursing Associates
Occupation Therapists
Physiotherapists

Equipment can be set up in the Clinical Skills room for you to use unsupervised, at a time that suits you, but if you require guidance in using the equipment the simulation team can also offer supervised teaching sessions.
