Medicine - Teaching and e-Portfolio

In this programme a variety of learning approaches are adopted. These include web-based, CDs, ward-based clinical teaching, exposure to outpatients at the appropriate identified level, group learning, private study, courses, reflective practice, audit projects, clinical meetings, journal clubs, grand rounds, regular teaching specific to year and Specialty, but also multi-Specialty if appropriate.

Teaching

In addition to the protected departmental and programme specific teaching, all trainees are expected to attend the weekly Grand Round and the weekly X-ray meeting, where they are encouraged to present cases and also discuss x-rays. All trainees are expected to participate in audit and to attend the monthly audit half day. There are several departmental meetings, details of which will be available when joining the relevant arm of the rotation.

e-Portfolio

This is a key aspect of your learning in the programme. It is your responsibility to maintain an e-Portfolio. This is an essential mandatory requirement as it provides an audit of your progress and learning. Further information on how to manage and complete the specialty ePortfolio can be found at jrcptb.org.uk/eportfolio-information
